Florida Man Dies after Stolen Canoe Capsizes

Florida police in Orange County have said 22-year-old Christopher Mayo was intoxicated when the stolen canoe he was in capsized in Lake Waunatta leading to his drowning death.

 

According to reports Mayo, along with Robert Geib, 15, and Edward Geib, 17, had stolen a canoe and headed took course on the lake. The three were about 200 feet offshore when the canoe capsized sending the three into the water.

 

The three began screaming for help but a rescuer found only the two brothers and it was later discovered that Mayo did not know how to swim. His body was found about 12 hours later.
