Pakistani Blast in Mardan Kills at least 6, More Than a Dozen Injured

A suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a bakery in the northwestern Pakistani town of Mardan on Sunday killing at least six people and wounding more than a dozen. Among the dead were four soldiers of the Pakistani army.

While no group has claimed responsibility the area has experienced attacks in the past from Islamist militants.

It is believed the suicide bomber was targeting the soldiers who had been guarding a gate at their base, the Punjab Regimental Center.

The death toll has been listed as six but other reports had indicated as many as 13 were killed in the blast and another 16 were injured.
