Royalty in Miami

Perhaps an Interleague weekend of two of the more surprising 08 ball clubs, the Florida Marlins, and Kansas City Royals weekend was interesting to say the least. Both fighting for respect in their own leagues, the two battled in Florida, has the rubber match was the tiebreaker Sunday afternoon. Like the weekend, Sunday showed another hit parade has the Royals piled the Marlins 9-3 to win the series.

The Royals thriving on young talent, continued to show signs of good play as both youngsters Jose Guillen and Mark Teahen performed well, each providing a round chipper. The young ace on the mound Zack Greinke also performed well in six innings of work improving his record to 5-1. The Royals, flirting with a .500 record, for the first time in May since who knows, has been easily one of the biggest surprises in the league. Being in the, what we thought, big hitting AL central, the Royals have proved to be contenders holding a winning 10-7 record against the division.

Going into Sunday, the Royals are holding third in division, a uplifting sight for any Royals fan. Like the Royals, despite Sunday's loss they too have had a turning the tide season. The NL east leading club has continued to play well, although having a 5-5 record in their last 10. The Marlins are trying to prove they are the title team what seems like a century ago, and little by little, they have been filling those ugly colored seats down south.
