Brian Gladden was named as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) on Monday, effective June 13.
Gladden succeeds Don Carty, the company's vice chairman and CFO, who is resigning, effective on that date. Gladden, who will report directly to CEO Michael Dell, will be responsible for all aspects of Dell's finance division including accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, audit, and investor relations.
Gladden most recently served as president and chief executive officer of SABIC Innovative Plastics Holding BV, which is the former GE Plastics. Gladden spent nearly 20 years with General Electric, previously serving as Vice President and General Manager of GE Plastics’ resin business; CFO of GE Plastics; and Vice President and CFO of GE Medical Systems Healthcare IT business.
Gladden received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance from Millersville University in Millersville, Pa.
Carty, who has been a member of Dell's board since 1992, will remain on the board.
Dell's stock opened Monday at $21.46. The close one year ago on Friday, May 18 was $26.07.
