A 16-year-old Canadian girl died on Friday night, three weeks after a stomach flu transformed into a rare heart disease known as myocarditis.
According to reports Karèle Galaise-Séguin of Granby, Quebec had been suffering from a stomach virus but after she showed no signs of improvement her parents took her to the hospital. Galaise-Séguin was then transferred to Montreal Children’s Hospital after she found to be suffering from a heart ailment.
Galaise-Séguin was found to be suffering from myocarditis, an inflammation of the muscular part of the heart. She was awaiting heart transplant when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Friday.
