Al Qaeda-linked Terrorists Arrested in Morocco

Eleven members of an alleged al Qaeda-linked terrorist network have been arrested in Morroco after plans for attacks in that North African country and in Belgium were uncovered.

Moroccan security services reported the eleven, including one Moroccan who lived in Belgium, were arrested in the cities of Fez and Nador.

The group had connections to terrorist groups who sent volunteer jihadists to Iraq and to training camps run by al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

According to authorities in Brussels, there were no terror attacks planned for Belgium. The group sought to attack countries it claimed were enemies of the Islamic state.
