Netflix, Roku Unveil Cutting-Edge Netflix Set Top Box to Stream Movie Rentals

Netflix and Silicon Valley start-up Roku revealed their collaborative Netflix Set Top Box on Monday, allowing for cutting-edge technology in home entertainment.

The Netflix Set Top Box player will allow Netflix customers to view streaming movies onto their televisions without the use of DVDs.

The Netflix Set Top Box is simple to set-up. All a customer needs to do is plug it in, hook it up to the HDTV with an HDMI cable, plug in an Ethernet cord, and then use a confirmation code to link it to your account. The installation process is said to take all of five minutes.

The Set Top Box player streams at 1.0 Mpbs, which offer very good video quality.

The Netflix Set Top Box costs $100 with no additional monthly fees. For customers with an unlimited Netflix plan, they can stream as many movies as they like for the same flat fee they are already paying. The box also automatically upgrades as new software features become available

The Netflix Set Top Box is available for purchase on the Roku website, which is located at Roku.com. The videos can be rented from Netflix.com.
