The Tasmanian Devil will be added to the endangered species list later this week, according to Australian officials.
Experts report that numbers of the animal found in the wild had dropped dramatically in the last decade as a result of an outbreak of cancer.
Numbers of the iconic marsupial have died from the cancer which spreads over the face and mouth and prevents the animal from eating.
