USATravelPal.com, a comprehensive travel website in progress, provides comprehensive travel information on over 1500 exciting destinations throughout the United States, including 28 in Greater Arizona (outside Phoenix, Tucson, and the three national parks). This area includes the cities of Bisbee, Flagstaff, Jerome, Lake Havasu City, Nogales, Prescott, Sedona, Tombstone, and Tuba City as well as the Hopi Indian Reservation, Monument Valley, Window Rock and the Canyon de Chelly, Montezuma Castle, Navajo, and Tuzigoot National Monuments.
Set in the heart of Arizona, Sedona offers a wide panorama of natural and manmade beauty. Here you'll find some wonderful red sandstone formations, best viewed during sunrise or sunset. Besides its natural wonder, Sedona is home to numerous art galleries featuring a wide variety of art, from Native American to modern. Other enjoyable activities include hiking, mountain climbing, swimming, fishing, rafting, and horseback ridings.
Monument Valley, near the Utah border, is another breathtaking area. This valley features some awesome red sandstone structures. Monument Valley is part of the Navajo Indian Reservation and is near the Native American town of Goulding. Notable points of interest in the valley include the Three Sisters, the Mitten, the Thumb, Merrick Butte, Camel Butte, Elephant Butte, Window Rock, and John Ford's Point.
Another stunning place in Arizona not to be missed is the Canyon de Chelly National Monument. This park features three major canyons: Canyon del Muerto, Canyon de Chelly, and Monument Canyon. Other exciting spots here include Spider Rock, the Massacre Cave, and the White House Ruins. Since the park is part of the Navajo Tribal Trust Land, a visit to most places here must be accompanied by an authorized guide or park ranger. However, the spectacular White House Ruins do not require supervised viewing.
