Barack Obama Takes Oregon, Hillary Clinton Carries Kentucky as Democratic Presidential Race Continues

Barack Obama took the Oregon primary with a 58-42 edge over rival Hillary Clinton and while the Illinois senator continued to creep closer to gaining a clear majority in the pledge delegate count his New York senator counterpart is unwilling to back down.

Obama opted to shy away from declaring outright victory in the Democratic race for the presidential nomination yet he did say he was “within reach” and would continue to press forward until the nomination was secured.

Clinton remains unconvinced as she blasted Obama in the Kentucky polls with a 65-30 advantage and during her victory speech she vowed she would continue campaigning until there was a Democratic nominee, “whoever she may be.” Clinton also appealed to the remaining super-delegates who have yet to make an endorsement, claiming she had the best chance of winning in the general election.

T he Democratic candidates still have Puerto Rico, Montana and South Dakota left on the primary trail before meeting at the Democratic National Convention to nominate their presidential candidate.
