Nine Inch Nails Performing Live in Minneapolis August 2

Nine Inch Nails will be performing live at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN on Saturday, August 2 at 7:30 pm.  The band will then move on to the DCU Center in Worcester, MA for an August 8 concert.

Founded by Trent Reznor of Cleveland, Ohio, in 1988, Nine Inch Nails is an industrial rock band, often abbreviated as NIN.  Reznor remains the only official member of the group and is solely responsible for its direction, as he is its main producer, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.  A live band is assembled by Reznor upon the completion of an album.  NIN live is always a separate entity from the NIN in the studio.

NIN’s music spans across several music genres while maintaining its characteristic sound using electronic instruments.  In addition, NIN is known for its intriguing visual elements and stage presence.  Stage acts often include the destruction of instruments.

Nine Inch Nails was well received by the underground music audience and produced multiple records in the 1990’s that proved to be highly influential.  Two NIN recordings won Grammy Awards and the band has sold over twenty million albums worldwide, 11 million being within the United States.  The Rolling Stone placed the band 94 out of the greatest 100 rock artists of all time in 2004.  Due to frequent tension between Reznor and the corporate recording industry, he announced in 2007 that he would continue his career without a record label.

NIN albums include:

Pretty Hate Machine (1989)

Broken (1992)

The Downward Sprial (1994)

The Fragile (1999)

With Teeth (2005)

Year Zero (2007)

Ghosts I-IV (2008)

The Slip (2008)
