Northern California Battling Wildfire in Santa Cruz Mountains
Firefighters in Northern California are trying to contain a wildfire that has consumed more than 100 acres of land near the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The fire now threatens more than 100 homes in the area near Highway 17.
According to reports the fire began shortly after 5:30 a.m. Pacific time and has continued to gain strength with sustained winds around 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph.
