One of three nuclear reactors at a Swedish plant was shut down after two workers were discovered with trace amounts of a highly explosive material.
Security officials at the Oskarshamn nuclear plant shut down the reactor for precautionary measures after it was discovered that the two contract workers had access to the area.
Police questioned the two men after trace amounts of triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, was found on items in their possession. Even in very small amounts, TATP is extremely volatile and can explode when subjected to heat, friction or shock.
According to a brief statement issued by Swedish police, the men were released but would remain under investigation.
No other explosive materials were discovered, and operations at the nuclear power station returned to normal.
