Long term sobriety success with new Integrated Care Model for drug addiction treatment
New holistic drug rehab model gives greatest chance for long-term sobriety
There’s one simple goal that drug rehabs worldwide share: long-term sobriety for substance abusers. One particular addiction treatment facility, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center in Canaan, CT, took that vision and became the pioneer of holistic drug rehab within the addiction treatment field.
The forward thinking of Mountainside led them to develop an evidence-based holistic drug rehab model that became the standard for other drug rehabs. Their holistic philosophical core focuses on treating the entire individual as opposed to mere symptom management. And, just as recently as May 2010, they unveiled an updated holistic drug rehab model that’s a culmination of over a decade of progressive, real-life application called the Integrated Care Model.
“Our new Integrated Care Model isn’t, necessarily, new to us,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “It’s simply a treatment modality that embodies our 12 years of drug addiction treatment. We knew that our first holistic drug rehab model, which was widely accepted as the standard, could be improved upon based on the empirical evidence that we had collected throughout the years. This new model showcases all of the benefits of our previous model, but we are finally able to separate the actual treatment modalities from the case management of an individual. Our research has shown this to be the most effective holistic drug rehab model within the addiction treatment field.”
Mountainside’s holistic drug rehab model encompasses various components of Eastern disciplines such as Tai Chi, meditation, and Qigong into their Mind, Body, Spirit Program. The use of these disciplines allows an individual to become more focused on themselves while helping them to clear their mind, enabling them a clean spiritual slate, so to speak, aiding in reduction of stress.
For more than 12 years, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center has led the way in offering an individualized alcohol and drug addiction treatment program.
Mountainside’s treatment team is committed to providing quality, compassionate care to each individual in a tranquil, peaceful environment conducive to optimal recovery. The program won national attention and resulted in Mountainside being invited to Washington to meet with the White House Drug Czar, John P. Walters, who wanted to learn more about the innovative program offered at Mountainside.
In addition to its licensed and certified counselors and social workers, Mountainside provides medical services through an on-staff Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Nurse with specializations in drug addiction and alcohol treatment. Psychiatric services are available when needed.
