Kanye West Sued for Samples Used on “Gone”

Rap superstar Kanye West along with his record label are being sued by the daughter of jazz musician Joe Farrell who says the artist used samples from “Upon this Rock” and incorporated them in the hit song “Gone” without permission.

Kathleen Firrantello has claimed that West used her father’s 1974 track without receiving authorization and is now seeking damages in a New York court.

Firrantello has also claimed that Method Man, Redman and Common have taken samples from the same song.
