Former Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Jack Mildren died Thursday after suffering from stomach cancer. The 58-year-old was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. He was receiving treatment at the University of Texas.
Mildren was the starting quarterback for University of Oklahoma from 1969 to 1971. At the time, he set school records for most rushing yards and most career touchdown passes.
Mildren played three seasons in the NFL. He played with the Baltimore Colts and New England Patriots. In 1990, Mildren became the Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
