7-Year-Old Girl Accidentally Shoots Sleeping Mother, Twice

A 7-year-old girl accidentally shot her sleeping mother on Friday picking up a handgun that had been on a nightstand near the bed.

Sharda Brijmohan had been asleep in her Florida home when the young girl reportedly walked in and saw the gun. After picking up the gun it accidentally fired twice, hitting Brijmohan in the forearm and neck.

Brijmohan was taken to Delray Medical Center and is expected to recover.
