Calling the recent attacks on immigrants in which at least 50 people have been killed and more than 25,000 displaced South African President Thabo Mbeki vowed to do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to justice and called the attacks an “absolute disgrace.”

Mbeki used his radio and television address to tackle the recent attacks that have targeted immigrants living in South Africa. The President called the violence the worst the country has seen since the end of Apartheid and warned that such actions would only sink the country.
