USATravelPal.com, a comprehensive travel website in progress, provides comprehensive travel information on over 1500 exciting destinations throughout the United States, including 24 in Greater New Mexico. This area includes Carlsbad Caverns National Park, the Chaco Culture National Historic Park, the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, Hacienda Martinez, and the White Sands National Monument, as well as the towns of Roswell and Taos.

While touring New Mexico, one should not pass up the fascinating Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Located in the Guadelupe Mountains near the Texas border, this park features a large tract of fascinating caves displaying incredible limestone formations. Carlsbad Cavern, the main cave, features the Big Room, filled with various stalactites, stalagmites, and other amazing structures. Other things to see in the park include the 1 1/2-hour ranger-guided King's Palace Tour, the more challenging self-guided Natural Entrance Route, and the Underground Lunchroom.

Another fascinating place to visit is the Chaco Culture National Historic Park in northwestern New Mexico. Here you'll find ancient remains of the Chacoan native American tribe. The most impressive features of the area are the two large Great Houses, which include several ceremonial structures known as Kivas. The park includes 12 smaller Great Houses as well. The area is also surrounded by beautiful mountains and contains a wide variety of wild plant and animal life.

The town of Roswell, New Mexico, is another fun place to go. It is mainly of interest because of the famous 1947 alleged UFO crash sighted near here. Although the US Military has maintained that what was recovered here were the remains of a top-secret research balloon, several UFO proponents disagree. Inspired by this controversy is the International UFO Museum & Research Center, built in 1997. Here you'll find several model flying saucers as well as paper displays hung on pegboards. The museum also includes a research library and a video room, where visitors can watch many documentary films pertaining to UFOs.
