Space travel enthusiasts should not pass up a visit to Space Center Houston, the official visitors' center of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, NASA's main control center for space missions. This is the only place in the world where visitors can touch a real moon rock. One can also participate in a simulated space shuttle landing. In addition, Space Center Houston houses several spaceships, including the Mercury 9 capsule, the Gemini V capsule, the Apollo 17 command module, and the Lunar Rover vehicle trainer. The museum also has an IMAX theater which shows two excellent films.
