What Phone Operating System Offers The Best Surfing Experience

Browsing the web on your: free cell phone with GPS functions, Verizon Blackberry phone or Sprint HTC EVO 4G phone can be a bit of a challenge because of the tiny LCD screen. You are looking at your 17 inch laptop computer screen everything looks nice and big.  Bit what happens when you are looking at a small smartphone screen? Some of the things you want to consider before you buy a cell phone if you plan on doing a lot of web browsing is the following:
  • How simple it is to navigate a Web page without a mouse
  • How readable are web pages that are optimized for a mobile device. (Note, if you want to make your website mobile compliant, you need to use this markup language xHTML)
  • Does your device have the ability to zoom in or go to full screen mode like the Apple Iphone
  • How does your smart phone handle viewing: links, PDF files or email addresses

What Is The Browsing Experience Like For:

  • Apple Iphone Web Surfers
  • Blacbkerry Phone Users
  • Android Powered Phone Users
  • Symbian Nokia Phone Users

Apple Iphone's version of Safari is very similar to the browsing experience on our MacBook Pro. This is something I have never experienced on any other mobile smartphone.  The only time I had trouble loading a website was if it had Flash content or Java applets. The iPhone provided the most satisfying browsing experience.

After Aug 15 when the new Blackberry 8900 comes out, the web browsing experience for Blackberry users will be impressive.  Already when compared to the Apple Iphone 4G OS and the Android 2.1 OS, the Blackberry OS 6 scored the highest for best web browsing experience.

"Thanks to the iPhone's touch screen, opening links and scrolling were as simple as tapping or dragging with a single finger. Zooming in and out was equally easy using the two-fingered pinch motion. Since Safari uses the entire screen and automatically rotates to landscape mode when the phone is turned 90 degrees, many Web pages were readable without the need to zoom at all."
