The company recently announced its obesity drug Qnexa met its goal in treating cases of diabetes, sending shares of VIVUS up 26 percent to $7.20 Friday, touching a multi-year high of $7.32.
“According to results, Qnexa led to a reduction in patients' blood glucose levels of 1.1 percent, compared with 0.6 percent in placebo patients. In addition, Qnexa-treated patients had a mean reduction in weight of 6.2 percent…”
