Canadian Couple Arrested After Listing ‘Baby for Sale’ on Craigslist

A Vancouver couple was arrested after posting an ad on Craigslist offering a newborn baby girl for $10,000.

Police were notified after a woman browsing the classified ads on the Craigslist website discovered the ad.

“A new baby girl, seven days old, healthy and very cute,” the ad read. “Can’t afford and unexpected. Looking for a good home. Please call ASAP.”

Authorities tracked the number of a stolen cell phone listed in the ad, and discovered the baby girl with her parents at an apartment in downtown Vancouver.

The 26-year old father and 23-year-old mother, who claimed the ad was a hoax, were arrested and released. The baby was removed from the home.
