Quantum Learning Network Announces New Summer Camps

The popular learning and life skills academic summer camp is responding to increased demand by adding sessions at its Stanford and Cornell programs

Academic summer camps run by Quantum Learning Network have been added at Cornell and Stanford in response to an unprecedented demand for its summer camp programs this year.

Quantum Learning Network runs pre-teen and teen summer camps under the SuperCamp name at eight U.S. colleges. These summer enrichment programs have helped over 50,000 students since the company launched in 1982. Following its record enrollments in 2007, SuperCamp is looking to set new highs this year.

"After our success last summer, we didn't know what to expect this year," said Bobbi DePorter, QLN and SuperCamp president. "The response from former graduates and new families this year has been overwhelming."

Ms. DePorter indicated that the decision to add camps as summer approached reflected her desire to accommodate as many students as possible and avoid placing them on the waiting list, which happened to over 200 students last year.

In addition to Stanford and Cornell, camps are offered at Drake University in Des Moines, Wake Forest, the University of Washington, Cal State San Marcos in San Diego, Colorado College in Colorado Springs, and the Claremont Colleges in the Los Angeles area.

Programs range from Youth Forum for boys and girls entering grades 4 and 5 in the fall to Quantum U for incoming college freshmen. The two biggest SuperCamp programs are its Junior Forum for incoming 4th through 6th graders and Senior Forum for teens entering grades 9 through 12.
