Tracy McGrady Said to be Leaning Toward Chicago Bulls

Free-agent guard/forward Tracy McGrady is said to be leaning toward signing a deal with the Chicago Bulls, saying he would take the role of a reserve player but wanted the opportunity to earn a starting spot on the club.

McGrady had earlier expressed interest in joining Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat but that didn’t appear likely to materialize. The 31-year-old has also worked out for the Los Angeles Clippers but Chicago appears to be his destination.

McGrady played in just 30 games last year as he recovered from surgery on his left knee and if he can prove he is healthy enough to play he should be joining Carlos Boozer as an offseason addition to Chicago’s roster.
