Levert’s family questioned authority’s account of how the singer fell ill. They requested that the FBI investigate.
County coroner Frank Miller ruled out foul play or trauma in Levert’s death. He said Levert died of complications from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease.
Levert, the son of O’Jay’s lead singer Eddie Levert, was a member of the 1980’s trio “LeVert.”
