Chinese Basketball Star May Call It Quits

According to a report from ESPN.com, Chinese basketball superstar Yao Ming might decide to retire he cannot make a full recovery from a foot injury that his plagued him for some time now. "If the foot injury does not heal next season, I might choose to call it quits." said Ming. "The foot injury will not allow me to play so many games anymore. Like I said before, I will quit the national team and the sport one day. It's what happens to every athlete." Currently the tallest player in the NBA at 7 ft, 6 in, Ming has served as a center for the Houston Rockets since 2002. He is a 7-time NBA All-Star and a 3-time FIBA Asian Championship MVP. Ming will turn 30 in September, and he seems to have already come to terms with the idea that his playing career may soon come to an end. He also realizes that he will not be able to be the Chinese superstar and basketball great that he once was; "I'm 30. As an athlete, I am not the future of China basketball anymore."
