The prestigious locale of Dubai may soon become more than just a business, tourist and sports mecca.
In the last few months, many of the entertainment industry’s top music stars have performed for fans in this hub for the United Arab Emirates. Performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith, Elton John and Santana have propelled Dubai into a music mecca.
Rumors that Madonna may soon perform multiple shows in Dubai add to the appeal. Organizers familiar with the arrangement said the original Material Girl may walk away with $20 million for the two performances – at a public concert and at a private party.
Entertainers have discovered Dubai as an attractive and lucrative destination on the concert circuit, where they can earn twice as much as they do in the United States or Europe.
