According to RealtyTrac Inc., 1 in every 519 households in the US received a foreclosure in April 2008. Other articles, like on myfico.com, quotes that overall, about 1 in every 100 households will end up going into foreclosure during this credit crisis. Joy Gendusa, PostcardMania CEO, predicts that those mortgage brokers that use this to their advantage will come out ahead, using the new FHA limits to help thousands of people through the travails of the housing bust.
Gendusa says there are still opportunities that if taken advantage of, will help the mortgage industry stay afloat which has been plummeting since the 2007 housing bust began. One major opportunity, she says, is the new FHA temporary loan limits made effective on March 6, 2008 from $271,050 to $729,750 which will give nearly 240,000 additional homeowners and homebuyers a safer, more affordable mortgage alternative (reported by hud.gov).
PostcardMania’s President, Jennifer Custer, who runs the company’s $19-plus million sales department, says that news is worth repeating. Mortgage brokers can promote this news and get the word out to their existing customer base and prospects. “There are people that need their help — potentially 240,000 of them,” she says.
Gendusa slashed her own prices to help entrepreneurs and mortgage brokers market more during the current economic condition. Her advice is to market more to pick up customers one’s competitors will lose by cutting their marketing budgets. Her postcard company is the only company, so far, to offer same-as-cash terms for entrepreneurs who need to promote and pay later when the sales start coming in.
“Don’t ‘agree’ — don’t buy into the fact that you can’t control your business’s outcome,” Gendusa stated.
