A British nuclear submarine was forced to surface recently after the boat struck an underwater pinnacle forcing it to the surface.
The HMS Superb was traveling in the Red Sea on May 26 when the accident occurred.
Five months prior to the accident the HMS Superb was involved in another incident that made headlines. In January a crewman aboard the boat was found to be drinking and napping while he was supposed to be carrying watchman duties. The boat had been portside at the time of the event and not at sea.
According to the British Ministry of Defense the crewman involved in the January incident is no longer aboard the boat. An investigation has been completed and disciplinary measures are being weighed at this time.
