Ed McMahon Fights Foreclosure on Beverly Hills Home

TV personality Ed McMahon is fighting foreclosure on his $4.8 million home in Beverly Hills. According to reports, McMahon is $644,000 behind on payments to mortgage loans. Countrywide Financial Corp. filed a default notice on February 28.

McMahon’s spokesman Howard Bragman says the 85-year-old is in “very fruitful discussions” to resolve the situation. Bragman said his client has been unable to work since he broke his neck 18 months ago.

“There are plenty of people affected by the weak economy, bad housing market or bad health,” Bragman added.

The home has been up for sale for two years. It is listed at $6.25 million.

McMahon appeared as Johnny Carson’s sidekick on ‘The Tonight Show’ for more than 30 years. He also hosted Star Search for several years.
