Sarah Louise Heath Palin, the youngest ever and the first female governor of Alaska, is becoming a frontrunner for Sen. John McCain's vice presidential nomination.
Palin, 44, is also the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating that around 90 percent.
Gov. Palin appeals to both younger voters and women, two demographics that McCain needs assistance in. Palin is pro-life, a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and her son enlisted in the Army last Sept. 11.
Several candidates have popped up in VP discussions, such as Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty and Rep. Joe Lieberman.
McCain has not openly discussed his list of vice presidential candidates, but for months, Palin has been on the top of the list.
