‘Headless Pyramid’ Uncovered in Egypt

Archaeologists have uncovered a ‘headless pyramid’ outside Cairo, Egypt that has been ‘missing’ since it was first uncovered more than 150 years ago.

The announcement was made Thursday by Egypt’s chief of antiquities, who said the pyramid is believed to be that of King Menkauhor, an obscure pharaoh who ruled more than 4,000 years old.

A German archaeologist originally discovered the pyramid, described as ‘headless’ because its top was missing, in 1842. Desert sands covered the site, and archaeologists since have been unable to locate it.
