Pakistani Police Arrest 3 Suspected Suicide Bombers, Seize Explosives

Authorities in Pakistan interrupted an alleged terror plot Thursday when they arrested three suspected suicide bombers and confiscated more than a ton of explosives.

No details were given of a specific target, but officials indicated it may have included “sensitive installations.”

Pakistani police said three vehicles seized during the arrests contained more than 2,200 pounds of explosives

The arrests came just days after a suicide car bombing in Islamabad killed six people at the Danish Embassy. An Internet posting Thursday claimed al-Qaeda was responsible for the attack and issued threats of more attacks.
