Rescue teams are searching for a group of divers who disappeared while scuba diving in treacherous waters around the Komodo National Park, a remote Indonesian island.
An employee of Reefseekers diving center, who arranged the trip, says a two group sof divers were exploring the waters between the islands of Flores and Sumbawa. One group returned, but they other didn’t. Among the missing is dive master Kathleen Mitchinson and citizens from Britain, France and Sweden.
The water around the Komodo National Park is known for its strong currents. Locals say several divers have been killed by the currents.
