Ugandan Rebels Said to be Preparing for Offensive

Following his refusal to sign a peace deal with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni rebel leader Joseph Kony is said to be preparing to lead his Lord’s Resistance Army into an offensive and may be getting assistance from neighboring rebel groups are offering arms to his cause.

For more than two years a peace deal had been brokered by agents of Kony and the Ugandan government and despite the agents’ acceptance of the deal Kony refused to sign.

Now it is believed the elusive rebel leader is preparing his combatants for a new offensive and indications are that he has acquired a full arsenal of weapons. The LRA is already suspected of killing 13 troops and seven civilians in South Sudan.

In what was once a battle confined to Uganda senior officers from South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo have now joined Ugandan officials to launch a military campaign that would crush Kony and the LRA.
