John Edwards has made it clear that he has no interest in being the number two man on the Democratic presidential ticket that will feature Barack Obama as their candidate.
Edwards told a pair of newspapers in Spain that he had no desire to take to run as vice president for a second time saying, “I already had the privilege of running for vice president in 2004, and I won't do it again.”
In 2004 Edwards was on the Democratic ticket with presidential candidate John Kerry, a ticket that fell to current president George Bush and VP Dick Cheney.
Edwards launched his own presidential campaign for 2008 but bowed out in January. In May Edwards endorsed Obama leaving many to believe the former senator from North Carolina was positioning himself for the VP slot.
