Italian Police Arrest Dozens Suspected in Camorra Crime Family

In a series of nighttime raids, police in Naples, Italy arrested dozens of suspected mobsters belonging to the Camorra crime family.

Police reported that 48 people were arrested in the Naples area, dealing a serious blow to the Camorra clan. Millions of dollars in assets were seized during the raids.

Suspects were arrested on charges including drug trafficking, criminal association and murder.

The Camorra is the regional equivalent of the Sicilian Mafia. Turf wars between rival clans have bloodied the streets in and around Naples for decades.
