10-Month-Old Baby Killed by 7-Year-Old at Day Care

A 10-month-old girl was killed on Friday after a 7-year-old girl reportedly picked up the infant and slammed her to the ground twice at a Pittsburgh, PA daycare center.

The incident occurred at a daycare center run out of a private residence in the city. The daycare provider had six children in the basement but went upstairs to change the diaper of a one-year-old.

The 20-year-old daycare provider said she then heard a noise and rushed back to the basement to find Marcia Posten placed on a loveseat with blood near her ear.

After finding Posten unresponsive the daycare provider called police and the infant was transported to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she was pronounced dead.

Police have said the 7-year-old would not be arrested but she would likely be evaluated by a psychiatrist.
