Governor’s Mansion in Austin, Texas Seriously Damaged in Fire

The 152-year-old Governor’s Mansion in Austin, Texas was severely damaged by a blaze that swept through the structure early Sunday morning.

A cause has yet to be determined but the damage to the structure was considered “bordering on the catastrophic” by officials.

Nobody was injured in the fire as it has been under a $10 million restoration for several months. Governor Rick Perry and his wife had moved out and all the furniture and historical items had been stored during the renovation.
