Japanese Man Kills Seven, Wounds 10 in Knife Attack

A man claiming to be “tired of life” drove a rented truck into a crowd of people in central Tokyo, Japan Sunday afternoon and then began randomly stabbing pedestrians, killing seven and wounding ten before being apprehended by police.

The attacks took place in the Akihabara district, commonly known as Electric Town and heavily populated by a younger crowd and tourists.

Police have said 25-year-old Tomohiro Kato had said he intended on killing as many people as he could because he was “tired of life.”

Six of the dead were men between the ages of 19 and 74 and the seventh killed was a 21-year-old woman.
