BBC Reporter Found Shot to Death in Afghanistan

The body of Abdul Samad Rohani, a BBC reporter in Afghanistan, was found Sunday in Lashkar Gah in the southern Halmand province.

Rohani had been working with the BBC Kabul bureau when he was abducted on Saturday.

The BBC released a statement noting Rohani’s “bravery - and that of his colleagues - have allowed us to tell a key story for audiences in the UK, in Afghanistan and around the world.”

Rohani’s death was the second suffered by a BBC reporter over the weekend. On Saturday Nasteh Dahir was killed by gunmen in southern Somalia.
