Starr Tincup, the Global Leader in Human Capital Marketing, Adds Four Partners

Innovators in strategic HCM brand development build bench strength, respond to rapid growth

Starr Tincup, the premier full-service marketing agency dedicated to the human capital management (HCM) software and services industry, today announced the addition of four partners. Kevin Mangum, Dan McCarron, Mark Mitchell and Steve Smith join Bret Starr as principals in the marketing firm that has worked with hundreds of companies in the HCM industry since 2000 and posted $12 million dollars in capitalized billings in 2009.

“Starr Tincup is growing at a rapid pace because of increased demand for strategic services in the human capital space,” said managing partner Bret Starr. “After more than a decade marketing human capital and talent management companies across the spectrum, I appreciate the value of a strong team. To keep up with the volume of new business from our North American and global clients, we chose to bring in four new partners with extensive experience delivering strategic services in this industry. Our future is brighter than ever, and we are well positioned for growth.”

Companies in specialized markets such as human capital engage Starr Tincup to:

·       Think - Strategic consulting, brand development, planning and account management

·       Write - Identity development, thought leadership, public relations, executive communication

·       Design - Branding and visual identity development, creative, Web, print, social, mobile, video

·       Develop - Web, application and email development

“Our firm succeeds because we promise to always tell you the truth, even if it’s sometimes hard to hear,” Starr said. “A consultant who tells you only what you want to hear isn’t a real partner. That’s why we promise an unyielding pursuit of the truth as we unravel the mysteries of your idiosyncratic buyers and build a strong brand for you.”

Starr will serve as the firm’s managing partner and will be involved in strategic consulting, account management and business development. He is also deeply engaged in the Fort Worth community, including involvement with the Fort Worth Opera, Team in Training and various local farm initiatives. Starr has been honored by the Fort Worth Business Press as a recipient of its prestigious 40 Under 40 award.

Mangum will lead the firm’s account management team based on his six years of success managing dozens of U.S.-based and international HCM client relationships, as well as developing effective strategic sales and marketing programs. He has also been a million-dollar sales producer in the human capital industry.

McCarron, who will head the firm’s operations, is an online marketing expert who has spent the past 15 years in account management with some of the nation’s top media companies and the past four years in the HCM industry.

Mitchell brings eight years of HCM experience and a track record of sales success to his role leading the firm’s business development initiatives. When he’s not on the phone closing deals, he’s frequently on the road attending industry trade shows and connecting with company insiders.

Smith will lead the firm’s content development, thought leadership and public relations activities. Since 2001, he has specialized exclusively in human resources and human capital-focused communications consulting after eight years of experience as a newspaper journalist. Smith has earned numerous awards for his business writing and blogging.
