Chi Sox Answering The Call

The Southside’s were at one point being called out for their lack luckster play from their manager and now they are playing the best ball of their young season so far. They are clearly the best team in the AL Central to this point and no other team seems to be close to them.

With a record of 36-26 the Sox stand ten games over .500 and the only team for that matter with a winning record in the division right now. Ozzie Guillen criticized the team and management for the lack of passion and caring for on-field play. Many believe that it was just an episode of Ozzie being Ozzie but maybe that was just what the team needed.

The Sox offense who was the main focus of criticism has really responded lately especially in their weekend series with division rival the Twins. They have topped double digits in all three weekend games against the Twins winning by a score of 11-2 on Saturday night and 12-2 on Sunday.

The White Sox heard all the talk that the Tigers and Indians were going to be the class of the division and that they would be playing for third place at the best. Due to injuries and ineffectiveness these teams have not come close to pre-season predictions. While the rest of the division is slumping and just can't seem to figure it out, the Sox are playing the type of baseball that got them to the World Series in 2005.
