A multiple DUI offender was charged Sunday with killing a nun and injuring two other nuns in a car accident in Prince William County in Virginia.
Carlos A. Martinelly Montano, 23, was allegedly drunk when he crashed head-on with another car carrying three nuns. Sister Jeanette Marie Moser, 66, who was in the backseat, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sister Charlotte Lange and Sister Connie Lupton were flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where they remain in critical condition.
Montano was traveling southbound on the highway. He hit a barrier, entered the other vehicle’s lane, struck another barrier, and then hit the nuns’ northbound travelling car. Montano was charged with his third DUI in five years, involuntary manslaughter and driving on a license revoked for previous DUI incidents.
