Iran Denies Grenade Attack on President’s Convoy

Several news outlets in Iran report a homemade grenade was lobbed at the convoy of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a visit to Hamedan on Wednesday, but the president’s media department denies the incident.  

Media advisor Akbar Javanfekr tells CNN that someone was playing with the firecracker. “This was someone playing with a firecracker, the kind children play with, the kind you use when you want to celebrate. This was a toy and there were no injuries but the western media took and made it bigger than it is,” he said.
