Plane Crashes into Phoenix Building, 1 Dead

One person has been confirmed dead after a small plane crashed into a building in Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday morning. The SR22 single engine plane had just taken off from the Deer Valley Airport when its engine started smoking.

The pilot was attempting to land the aircraft when it crashed into City Wide Pest Control and burst into flames just after 6 a.m. Only part of the building was burned.

The number of passengers in the plane is still unclear as the entire aircraft, including the tail number, was destroyed. The tail number is used on the flight plan filed by the pilot.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
