Janet Jackson to Perform Live at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland September 13

Janet Jackson will be performing live at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 pm.  She will be performing next at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday, September 17 at 8:00 pm.

Singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer and actress, Jane Damita Jo Jackson was born the youngest of the Jackson family in Gary, Indiana.  Starting her career at the age of 7 with her family, Jackson’s acting career started with the variety television show, The Jacksons.  She then went onto perform in Good Times, A New Kind of Family, Diffrent Strokes and Fame.

Jackson launched her recording career in 1982 with the release of her self titled debut album, which was later followed by Dream Street two years later.  After experiencing some recognition for her first album, the collaboration of record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis brought Jackson record breaking success with the release of Control (1986), Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), janet (1993), The Velvet Rope (1997) and All for You (2001), all of which were number one studio albums on the Billboard 200.
