Nepal’s former king, Gyanendra, and his wife, the former queen Komal, have moved out of the country’s Narayanhiti Royal Palace and taken to a temporary residence following last month’s vote to abolish the monarchy.
Gyanendra handed over his crown as well as his royal scepter before leaving the palace in Kathmandu and has vowed to continue working for the good of the people.
Last month the Maoist-led assembly voted to lead the country toward a federal republic.
