Mine Fire in China Traps 50

A fire erupted inside the Lingana Gold Mine in China’s Shandong province on Friday, trapping at least 50 workers. It is unclear if anyone was killed in the fire. Around 200 workers were able to escape the mine.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an underground cable. The Lingnan Gold Mine is located in Zhaoyuan.

On Monday, a gas explosion at the Sanyuandong Coal Mine in the Henan province killed 9 miners and trapped 7 others.
